Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can feel overwhelming—park tickets, resorts, dining, Genie+ strategy, and making sure everyone in the family has a magical (and accessible) experience. This guide breaks it down into a simple timeline so you know exactly what to do and when.

1) Pick your dates and trip length

Start with school/work calendars and crowd patterns. For most families, 4–6 park days is a sweet spot. If you’re traveling with little ones or anyone who needs breaks, plan for midday rest time.

2) Choose the right resort area

Where you stay impacts transportation time, nap breaks, and overall stress. Consider: budget, room size, stroller/wheelchair needs, and whether you want easy access to EPCOT/Hollywood Studios (Skyliner area) or Magic Kingdom (Monorail area).

3) Build a park plan (without over-scheduling)

Pick 1–2 must-dos per park and leave breathing room. A realistic plan beats a perfect plan. If you’re visiting with accessibility needs, we’ll factor in attraction transfers, quiet spaces, and the best routes to reduce walking.

4) Dining: decide what matters most

  • Character meals vs. quick service

  • Allergies and dietary needs

  • One “splurge” meal per trip

5) Genie+ and Lightning Lanes: keep it simple

Strategy changes over time, but the goal stays the same: reduce time in lines. We’ll tailor a plan based on your park days, priorities, and whether early mornings or late nights work best for your family.
